Construction has started at 60 Wilton Road’s Bankside house. The new condominium complex, offering 12 luxury homes on the Saugatuck River, was designed by Westport-based Roger Ferris + Partners architects. The project is by Westport’s David Adam Realty, and will be completed in partnership with Urbane New Haven. Nearly four centuries ago, the Bankside Farmers were a thing. In the fall of 1648, five men from Fairfield — Thomas Newton, Henry Gray, John Green, Daniel Frost and Francis Andrews — acquired land from the Native American Machamux tribe, on what is now Beachside Avenue and Sherwood Island.
